What it is

Meso Botox is a microinjection technique using diluted botulinum toxin type A, delivered as dozens of tiny droplets into the superficial layers of the skin rather than into the muscles beneath it.
That single change — depth — changes what the treatment does. At muscle level, toxin stops movement. At skin level, it acts on the tiny muscles that hold pores open, and on the oil and sweat glands sitting in the dermis. Pores tighten, the T-zone stops shining, and the skin surface reflects light more evenly.
It is often sold under other names: skin botox, micro botox, mesotox, baby botox, or “glass skin injection”. The technique is the same one. What differs between clinics is dilution, injection density and who is holding the needle.
Meso Botox is a skin quality treatment, not a wrinkle treatment. If your concern is a deep frown line or a heavy jaw, standard Botox is the correct tool. If your concern is oil, pores, roughness and dullness, this is.

Meso Botox prices in Bali, per unit
Meso Botox at Aeconic is priced per unit, on the same tiers as our standard Botox — from IDR 55,000. What you pay depends on how many units your skin needs and which toxin you choose, and both are agreed before we start.
Registered Korean botulinum toxin type A. The usual starting point, and the option most patients choose for a maintenance rhythm every two to three months.
Botox by Allergan, USA — FDA-approved, sourced through authorised distributors in Indonesia. Same technique, different product tier.
A nose-and-T-zone session uses far fewer units than full face plus neck. We count the units on your treatment plan and confirm the figure in writing before anything is injected.
Prices are in Indonesian Rupiah and are confirmed before treatment starts. Nothing is added mid-treatment, and you are never asked to commit to a package on a first visit. Who injects
Dilution is a medical decision, not a shortcut
Every Meso Botox treatment at Aeconic is assessed and injected by our clinic doctor, Dr. Connie Calista Tham. Nothing is delegated to a therapist, and nothing is injected before an examination.
This treatment lives or dies on two things: how far the toxin is diluted, and how superficially it is placed. Diluted too far and nothing happens. Placed too deep, or too close to the wrong muscle, and a treatment meant to leave your expression alone starts to affect it. Neither of those is a product problem — both are technique.
We also use registered product with single-use sterile technique, and we’re happy to show you the vial and batch before injection. If you’re comparing clinics in Canggu, ask each of them to do the same.
If Meso Botox isn’t the right answer for what’s bothering you, Dr. Connie will say so and explain what is. Sometimes that’s a skin booster, sometimes chemical peeling, and sometimes it’s skincare and time.

What happens, and when
The appointment
Cleanse, topical numbing, then dozens of micro-injections across the mapped zones with an ultra-fine needle. You’ll leave with mild redness and small raised points.
Redness settles
The tiny bumps flatten within a few hours and any redness is usually gone by the next morning. Makeup from 24 hours.
Visible result
Oil drops off first, then pores tighten and the surface starts reflecting light evenly. Fully settled at around two weeks.
How long it lasts
Shorter than standard Botox, because the dose is diluted and the skin turns over. Most patients repeat every two to three months, or before an event.
Timings are typical. Very oily skin and heavy sun or sweat exposure shorten the cycle; consistent sunscreen and a maintenance rhythm lengthen it.
Before & aftercare
Protecting the result in a tropical climate
Meso Botox leaves dozens of tiny open injection points across the face. In Canggu that matters more than it would elsewhere — sweat, salt water and pool chlorine all arrive within hours if you let them.
Before your treatment
- Skip alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours — both increase the chance of pinpoint bruising.
- Pause blood thinners, fish oil and anti-inflammatories where your prescribing doctor allows it. Never stop prescribed medication without asking them first.
- Stop retinol, acids and scrubs for 3 days beforehand, so the barrier is calm on the day.
- Arrive hydrated, rested and having eaten. Treatment on an empty stomach is the most common cause of light-headedness.
- Come with a clean face if you can, and tell us if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, on antibiotics, or have a neuromuscular condition.
After your treatment
- Don’t touch, rub or massage the face for 24 hours. Sleep on your back the first night.
- No makeup for 24 hours — the injection points are still closing.
- No sauna, steam, hot yoga or heavy exercise for 48 hours. Heat and blood flow move product where it shouldn’t go.
- No sea, pool or surf for 48 hours. Salt water and chlorine on fresh injection points is the fastest route to irritation here.
- Hold retinol, acids, vitamin C and scrubs for 3 to 5 days. Bland moisturiser only.
- High-SPF sunscreen and a hat from day one. UV is what puts the texture and dullness back.
- No facials, peels, RF or laser for 1 to 2 weeks.
Mild redness, pinpoint bumps and occasional small bruising are normal for the first 24 hours. If anything concerns you afterwards, message the clinic directly on WhatsApp rather than waiting for your review.

Three treatments people confuse with it
Meso Botox works on oil, pores and surface. If your concern is dehydration, volume or a deep expression line, it isn’t the right tool — and no number of units will make it one.
Standard Botox
Same product, full strength, injected into the muscle. It stops the movement that folds skin into forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet — and can slim a jaw or release tight shoulders. Lasts 3 to 6 months. Many patients run both.
Botox in Bali →Skin boosters
Hyaluronic acid micro-injections that rehydrate from within. Where Meso Botox reduces oil and tightens pores, boosters add water and plumpness. Dry, tight skin needs the booster; oily, open-pored skin needs the toxin. Combination skin often needs both.

Visiting Bali
Timing it around your trip
A large share of our Meso Botox patients are travellers and expats on the west coast. If you’re here for a week, when you book matters as much as what you book.
Give it three days. The result shows from day three to five, so a treatment on your last morning means seeing it at home. Come in the first half of your trip and you’ll get the good days here.
Two days out of the water. This is the restriction that catches people. No sea, no pool, no surf for 48 hours. Book around your surf days, not into them.
Events and photography. Redness settles overnight, but leave a clear week before a wedding or a shoot so the skin is fully settled rather than merely calm.
Living in Canggu? Most patients settle into a rhythm of every two to three months, usually tied to the wet and dry seasons — oil and sweat behave differently across the year and the plan should too.

How much does Meso Botox cost in Bali?
At Aeconic Clinic in Canggu, Meso Botox is priced per unit from IDR 55,000 with registered Korean toxin, or from IDR 85,000 per unit with Allergan Botox — the same tiers as our standard Botox treatments.
Your total depends on how many units your skin needs, which depends on the zones treated. A nose-and-T-zone session uses considerably fewer units than a full face with neck. We count the units on your treatment plan and confirm the figure in writing before anything is injected, and nothing is added mid-treatment.
What is Meso Botox, and how is it different from regular Botox?
Meso Botox is the same botulinum toxin type A, diluted and injected as many tiny droplets into the superficial layers of the skin rather than into the muscle. Regular Botox relaxes the muscles that fold skin into expression lines. Meso Botox acts on the dermis instead — on the small muscles that hold pores open and on the oil and sweat glands sitting in that layer.
The practical difference: standard Botox changes how your face moves; Meso Botox changes how your skin behaves. It refines pores, reduces oil and sweat, softens superficial fine lines and improves surface texture. It is also sold as skin botox, micro botox, mesotox or “glass skin injection” — all the same technique.
Will Meso Botox freeze my face?
No. That’s the point of the technique. The dose is diluted and placed above the muscle layer, so the muscles that raise your brows, crease your forehead and shape your smile are not affected. Your expression stays exactly as it is.
The one caveat is technique. Placed too deep or too close to a superficial muscle, a diluted dose can still have a mild relaxing effect. That’s why the injection is performed by our clinic doctor rather than delegated, and why we map the zones before starting.
How long does Meso Botox last?
Typically 2 to 3 months — shorter than standard Botox, because the dose is diluted and the skin surface renews itself continuously. You’ll see the first change at day three to five, with the result fully settled at around two weeks.
Very oily skin, heavy sun exposure, daily sweat and frequent sea swimming all shorten the cycle. Most patients here treat every two to three months, or book a single session ahead of a wedding, a shoot or a trip home.
Is there downtime, and does it hurt?
There are more injection points than a standard Botox treatment, but each one is shallower. Topical numbing is applied first and most patients describe it as a series of light pinpricks. The appointment takes 15 to 30 minutes.
Expect mild redness and small raised points for a few hours; occasional pinpoint bruising can occur. Most people are presentable the same evening and back to normal the next morning. No makeup for 24 hours, no touching or massaging the face, and no sea, pool, sauna or heavy exercise for 48 hours.
Is Meso Botox good for oily skin and large pores?
Those are the two concerns it treats best. Reducing sebum output and relaxing the tiny muscles around each follicle is precisely the mechanism, which is why oily and combination skin sees the clearest change — usually a noticeable drop in shine within the first week.
It does not treat active acne, existing scarring or pigmentation, and it doesn’t hydrate. If those are part of the picture, we’ll build a plan that combines it with peeling, medical facials or a skin booster rather than selling you repeat sessions that can’t reach the problem.
Can I have Meso Botox while on holiday in Bali?
Yes, and it’s a popular pre-event treatment — but book it early in your trip. The result shows from day three to five, so a session the day before you fly means seeing it at home with no one to review it.
The restriction that matters here is water: no sea, pool or surf for 48 hours, and no sauna or heavy exercise in the same window. Sunscreen and a hat from day one. If you’re also planning facials, peels or laser, leave one to two weeks between those and your Meso Botox.

Choosing where to get Meso Botox in Bali
Meso Botox is advertised across Canggu and Seminyak under half a dozen names, at prices that vary by a factor of four. The gap is not marketing — it’s dilution, unit count and who holds the needle.
Ask how far it’s diluted
Dilution is the whole treatment. A clinic quoting an unusually low flat price is either using very few units or diluting far beyond what produces an effect — and both look identical on the invoice. Ask how many units are going into your face, not just what the session costs.
Ask who injects
In Indonesia, injectables are a medical act. Ask directly whether a doctor performs the injection or whether a therapist does it under nominal supervision. At Aeconic, Dr. Connie Calista Tham assesses and injects — there is no version of the visit where that changes.
Ask to see the vial
Very cheap toxin exists because unregistered and counterfeit toxin exists. Ask to see the box, the brand and the batch number before treatment. A clinic that hesitates has already answered the question.
Understand what it will and won’t do
Meso Botox refines pores, reduces oil and sweat, softens superficial fine lines and improves how light falls on the skin. It does not lift, does not add volume, does not hydrate, and does not clear active acne or pigmentation. A clinic that promises all of the above from one treatment is selling, not assessing.
Ask what the plan looks like at three months
This is a maintenance treatment with a two-to-three-month cycle, not a one-off fix. Ask what happens when it wears off, whether a review is included, and how it fits alongside peeling, facials or boosters. A clinic that only talks about the next appointment isn’t planning your skin.
